Astec Mobile Screens is pleased to announce that the stealth tappet is now available on not only the ProSizer® but all their other high frequency screens as well. The tappet, which is the mechanism that shakes the screen cloth, features the same technology as the previous screen vibrators but the Stealth Tappet is more streamlined and user friendly. It boasts a round style which aids in material flow around it as opposed to the square style of the previous version.
“The previous box style really allowed material to get stuck and the round design just lets it flow right past”, stated Astec Mobile Screens Product Manager, Patrick Reaver. “The Stealth Tappet is also more user friendly because you can access it from the side of the screen box as opposed to climbing underneath the unit to get to it. That’s less cleaning time which means less labor and more production.”
This design change is just another step in the process for Astec Mobile Screens to make FRAP (fractionated reclaimed asphalt pavement) production easier and more cost effective. The Stealth Tappet is extremely useful during the production of FRAP because it reduces the overall buildup of asphalt. The new design also houses the hoses on the inside of the casing which provides for better wear and increases the life of the hoses. Both versions of the tappet will be available for placement on all the high frequency screening products from Astec Mobile Screens.
